New Minis Fixtures Secretary

Tim Evans is to take over the fixtures for the Minis next season.

The draft fixture list for 2010/11 has been put together and recently been circulated to the coaches for information. Undoubtedly there will be some fine tuning. The basic plan for the season will involve one game against each of the 10 Dorset teams, a number of festivals and possibly a few other games fitted in between.

Tim asks that if any coaches hear of other festivals or potential fixtures, either this season or next, then please let him know on 07904 520260 or timandlouiseevans@googlemail.com.

Our thanks go to Iain and Graham for all their hard work in the past looking after the Mini fixtures.

U14's Fundraising

Talking of fund raising, the team has managed to gain some very welcome sponsorship, and thanks must go to Ed Chivers' Dad, Dan Dunleavys Dad, as well as Andy via BT, Ian and Stuart via LV. Also all of you who took part in the sponsored bike ride back in rainy July - I am still waiting for a final total but it will be in excess of £600.00. As you know the sponsorship was raised in connection with Barclays bank , for Children with Leukaemia, under a £1-for-£1 scheme, which means that our team will get £600 back. Sad News

Julian HardyJulian Hardy:

The Club has been deeply saddened by the death of Julian Hardy on Saturday last. Apart from being Assistant Bar Chairman Julian was a tireless worker for the Club and always available in emergencies to do the jobs that were not always popular and certainly not glamorous. His contribution was such that he was Clubman of the Year in 2005/6. The Club sends its deepest sympathies to Diane, Lee and Kerry.

The funeral will take place at Lady St. Mary's on Thursday 25 January at 2.15 pm. The Clubhouse will be open after the service.

No flowers please but donations can be sent to Albert Marsh, Funeral Director to be split between the Club and the Dyspraxia Foundation.

London Irish 2 Day Academy

Successful 2 day Academy for the Juniors

For 2 days the juniors have had the benefit of the advice and expertise of coaches from the London & Irish Squad.

The 48 hours culminated in an award ceremony and all participants being given an L&I T-shirt plus the offer of visiting the team at their home stadium.

Opening News

Terrie ConnorMessage from Terrie Connor:

Hi

Just to let you know that unfortunately the weekend camp due to be held on 16th and 17th September has been cancelled as it is felt that to complete another 2 days intensive training would be too much to soon.

We are sure that many of you will be disappointed however those who attended the London Irish camp will have gained skills that they are able to take forward into this seasons matches and we have the London Irish match to look forward, details of which will be forwarded once they have been arranged and confirmed.

Also Sunday 10th is registration day with the cost of the club subs remaining £25 for individual subscription and £45 for a family. If your child has changed school or you have changed your address then a new RFU form will need to be completed. For change of school 2 new photo's will need to be submitted so that new cards can be issued to the coaches. Anne and I can be found in the back committee room each Sunday over the next three weeks or you can submit your forms to your team managers who will then register the team members with us.

Unfortunately if players are not registered with the club or the RFU they are unable to play in matches as they are not covered by insurance therefore it is important that over the next two weeks subscriptions are paid for the first matches at the beginning of October.

Thank you

Terrie
