Swans u16s 7 Bournemouth U16s 43
A depleted Swans lost today, but can look back with huge pride on their 10 year's in youth rugby at Swans.
Swans can proudly boast that over the years they've won the Bournemouth Festival, Wimborne Festival, D&W Plate and many other prizes in other festivals. They've been fortunate to win far more games than they've lost; all players have consistently given their best, played for each other and represented the club with great spirit. They can all be proud of their achievements.
Today's match was always going to be tricky, especially bearing in mind the injury troubles Swans have suffered throughout the season, and although Bournemouth in the end were convincing winners, there were times when had Swans been on top form they could have worked their way back into the match; for instance when they fought hard to fight back to 7 : 14 after a well finished try by Kieran Taylor. However this was perhaps one game too many for the Swans tired bodies.
Swans have though enjoyed another great season, achieving some impressive results and producing many superb performances. The floodlit match against Trowbridge was perhaps the highlight where the fantastic atmosphere was matched by some terrific rugby from Swans and Trowbridge. It allowed the Swans boys to experience firsthand what a marvellous club they are part of both on and off the field.
Well done and thanks to all the Swans players who've represented this successful age group over the last ten years and we hope to see you all after a well earned break at pre-season training, so we can ensure we work towards continuing our success in Colts rugby. .
