​​Swanage & Wareham visited Blandford for the very first time in their history, and came away with a comfortable victory.
​​The hosts conceded a couple of early penalties and after three minutes a catch/drive move from ten metres out, had Swans no.8 Kirk Jones, forcing his way over the try line. Centre David Elford added the extras. However Blandford came back at Swans and after 11 minutes the visitors conceded a try close to the posts.(7pts each) . It did not take Swans long to add another try, as from a line out a catch/drive move had Swans scrum half Chris Tomes scoring out wide.(7pts – 12pts) after 15 minutes. Blandford came back into the game, but Swans defence kept them at bay. After 30 minutes Swans increased their lead as a break enabled Swans winger Alex Parry to score his first try this season. Elford converted(7pts – 19pts). Just before half time Swans other winger Callum Young also scored his first try of the season with a run down the wing. Elford added the extras as Swans hit the bonus point score before the break(7pts – 26pts) at half time.
​​Once again Blandford started at a cracking pace in the second half, but Swans held them off, and after 51 minutes from a scrum close to the hosts line Swans pushed the pack backwards and Kirk Jones was on scoreboard again. Deep into Blandford’s 22 the Swans pack pushed Blandford over their line and Kirk Jones was there to score his hat-trick of tries, on the hour mark. (7pts – 38pts). A slick move by the three-quarters on 68 minutes had centre David Elford scoring his first try of the season to move Swans up to 43pts. A couple of penalties took Blandford into Swans half and a break enabled the home team to score a converted try after 72 minutes giving Blandford their14pts. Swans were not finished as with 3 minutes to go another scrum close to the hosts line had Swans prop forward Zach Wyburgh bursting over the line. Replacement full back Steve Woolley added the conversion to take Swans to the half century mark. Final score Blandford 14pts Swanage & Wareham 50pts.
