Swans were first on the scoreboard after 3 minutes, following a penalty to the Dockers five metres line, the ball was passed amongst the Swans three quarters to winger Ben Dennett who touched down in the corner. Swans continued to dominate proceedings and after, ten minutes from a line out on the Dockers 5 metres line Swans drove over with scrum half Chris Tomes coming up with the ball.(10pts – nil). 5 minutes later a penalty to Dockers took them into Swans 22 and after a few phases Dockers winger crossed in the corner and ran round to score under the posts. The try was converted(10pts – 7pts). For most of the rest of the half Swans were dominating the play, mostly in the Dockers 22, but the Dockers defence denied any further score until a penalty after 28 minutes by fly half Steve Woolley put Swans into a half time lead of 13 pts – 7pts.
From the restart a mistake by Swans had a Dockers’ centre bursting through the Swans defence, to score a try under the posts which was converted(13pts – 14pts). Swans continued to attack the Dockers line and a penalty was awarded to Swans which Steve Woolley put over(16pts - 14pts), after 48 minutes. As Swans were in the Dockers 22 the Dockers fly half kicked a high ball clearance to half way, Swans let the ball bounce but straight into the hands of a Dockers’ winger who had a clear run to score a converted try under the posts.(16pts – 21pts) Swans came roaring back on the offensive and after a score was ruled out for held up, from the resulting scrum Chris Tomes picked the ball up from the back of the scrum and dived over the line. Steve Woolley converted(23pts – 21pts) after 56 minutes. It was all Swans doing the attacking now and they were putting phase after phase on the Dockers line, but Dockers defence was secure. However after 72 minutes from one of these phases the ball was worked out to Swans’ centre Barnaby Knibb who crashed his way over the try line for the bonus point score.Steve Woolley converted(30pts – 21pts).This was the final score so Swans extend their lead by 5 league points above Dockers and also have a superior points difference advantage.
