Weymouth U16s 12 Swanage & Wareham U16s 39
Swans U16s unbeaten cup run continued as they achieved their third win out of three in this Dorset & Wilt Cup pool match.
Weymouth have traditionally been one of Swans stronger fixtures in this age group and in-fact pipped Swans in a close encounter at the end of last season. Weymouth started with great confidence and for the first ten minutes their big forwards carried strongly around the fringes, but fortunately were met by some determined tackling from the Swans pack that showed great courage in defending the Weymouth onslaught.
As the game progressed Swans gradually imposed themselves on the game and scored some great team and individual tries, eventually securing a fairly comfortable win. Whilst this was a good performance and the effort and commitment could not be faulted, at times the lack of numbers at recent training sessions was evident with wrong options being taken at times, but this shouldn't detract from another superb win for the Swans.
The victory sets up a big last pool match against close rivals Wimborne, who if as expected win today will also go into the final round unbeaten.
