Start of a cup run????

An immense performance
Swans went to Oakmedians with optimism that they could get a positive result from a well organised Oaks team. Swans started well and turned a well organised blitz defence into their first try by Johnny Jang by Intercepting a pass from the Oaks defence. Benjamin Wright duly converted 7-0.
Swans continued press home their dominance by scoring again with some strong individual running by James Lowe. With Benjamin Wright adding the extra 2 points. 14-0.
After 20 minutes a shocked Oakmedians team started to get some good possesion and eventually broke through to score a good try in the corner, the conversation attempt was unsuccessful. 14-5
With time running out in the 1st half Swans started to raise their game which saw some great steals from Ben Hann, which resulted in Ryan Lander making some great yards through the heart of the Oaks defence, from the resulting ruck Swans Captain Zach Walton went over for Swans 3rd try after some excellent forward play. The conversion attempt was unsuccessful. Half time score 19-5 to Swans.
Oaks came out in the 2nd half very strongly, after several phases the ball was spun wide and the Oaks left winger scoring in the left corner. The conversion was unsuccessful. 19-10 to Swans. Straight after the re-start Swans knocked on which gifted the ball back to Oaks and they started to exert pressure again. After several phases they found gaps in swans defence and duly went in for their 3rd try of the match. The conversion was unsuccessful. 19-15 to Swans.
With 15 minutes remaining Swans scrum half George Crouch saw a hole in the Oaks defence and ran 50 metres to score under the posts. In a controversial decision Troy was handed the responsibility of the conversion which he duly converted with inches to spare. 26-15 to Swans.
The last 10 minutes Swans had their backs to the walls. Oaks applied the pressure and eventually breached the Swans line with 7 minutes remaining. They missed the conversation. 26-20 to Swans.
Swans needed to gain some composure for the re-start but errors cost them and Oaks re-gained possession and started to make headway back towards the Swans half. Some quick ball saw the left winger go again into the corner. 26-25 to Swans. After some tanterlizing seconds Oaks missed the conversation.
There were seconds left at the re-start and Swans regained possession of the ball with Swans seeing out the final few seconds of the game as the referee blew the whistle. Swans recorded their 1st win over Oaks. An absolutely immense performance from the boys.
